"This was the best conference I have ever been to!"
Hazel Henderson, June 9th, 2003.

The 2003 Planetwork Conference was a resounding success! On behalf of the entire Planetwork team, THANK YOU for joining us for a truly remarkable weekend! We are very inspired by the tremendous outpouring of enthusiasm we have received and look forward to your continued involvement in co-creating Planetwork.

However, it was a resounding success in all respects except financially. We did not come close to covering our costs, so if you felt moved by your experience at the conference and would like to help us toward closing the gap (and help us prepare for next year):

If you are on our mailing list you will be hearing from us three times this summer with specific updates, announcements, and opportunities to participate. We urge you to actually read the spam you receive from us - we promise not to overload you!

In the mean time, here is the most basic info in response to some of the most frequently asked questions:

  1. Yes, we are planning to do another conference next year.
  2. Yes, audio and video will be available soon, online, and on DVD.
  3. And yes, we are creating an online discussion forum and it will be up soon.

Planetwork is dedicated to convening a wide range of conversations around the application of information technology to pressing real world issues, focused especially on ecology, social justice and political self-determination as articulated in the Earth Charter.

Planetwork, Inc. is a CA 501(c)3 which has produced an annual conference and monthly forum in San Francisco as well as events in a variety of other cities around the world, and provides a fiscal umbrella for a number of projects consistent with its mission, including the LinkTank Social Network Tools project, and now the ASN project.

The ASN project is a coordinating, advocacy, interpretation and popularization effort to articulate and explain the idea of the ASN in a manner which will help allow many disparate players, including NGO's, to better understand the collective potential and bring the funding mechanisms for civil society to bear on supporting that opportunity.

In addition to other independent projects, such as the ASN, Planetwork advocates for a specific linkage between the purpose and principles articulated in the Earth Charter, and individuals, NGO's and companies which commit to support these values, through the Planetwork Consortium.

We deeply appreciate your continued support. We look forward to hearing from you, and send you our best wishes, blessings and hopes for an inspired and peaceful summer.
