Anthony Lappé
Anthony is Excutive Editor of GNN.tv, the web site for the Guerrilla News Network. The site features daily news and opinion on important global issues undercovered by the mainstream media, an active forum as well as their Sundance-winning short documentary videos. Vice magazine called GNN.tv, "a Salon with balls." USA Today.com wrote, "It's times like these, when questioning government policies is characterized as near treasonous, that one appreciates the skillful dissent displayed by the Guerrilla News Network." In addition, Anthony is a writer and television producer who has written for more than twenty magazines and newspapers and has produced television news programming that has aired around the world. He has written for Black Book, Details, New York, The New York Times (City, Styles and Magazine sections), Houston Chronicle, and Salon.com, among many others. In television, he worked as a correspondent for The New York Times Video News International (now NYT-TV), the world pioneer in small-format video-journalism. In 1996, he received two grants from the U.S. government to help train reporters from the Palestinian Broadcasting Corporation in the West Bank. Later, he was a breaking news producer for Worldwide Television News (WTN) and a documentary producer for MTV News and Specials. He is a graduate of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. |
