I have been working with Michael Linton for the last 8 years designing and developing open money and community currency systems (LETScc), primarily in North America. I am currently developing an elder care project in the Comox Valley that will make it possible for seniors to lead a more active and enjoyable life by connecting youth and seniors through the community way program. http://www.openmoney.org

Prior to discovering that community currencies (cc) are the solution to the money problem, I and several others had started a reforestation co-operative in 1976, which we managed for the next 15 years. During that period and subsequently, I have been involved in peace, social justice, and environmental advocacy. I was a Green Party candidate in a couple of elections and have been much involved in community work, mostly as an activist and shit disturber. I live on a big island off the north west coast of Turtle Island, aka North America.

At the conference, we will provide information about the current state of open money development all over the world, with particular attention to open money projects in London, Tokyo, and rural Brutish Columbia. A self-financing development strategy, community way, will be presented in some detail. Community way is a fundraiser for community organizations, and the recommended starter for community currencies in any village, town, and urban neighbourhood. http://www.openmoney.org/cw
