Paul Hawken
Paul Hawken is an environmentalist, entrepreneur, journalist, best-selling
author, and an architect and proponent of corporate reform with respect
to ecological practices.
He is author and co-author of dozens of articles as well as six books
including The Next Economy, Growing a Business, and the best-selling The
Ecology of Commerce. His latest book, Natural Capitalism: Creating the
Next Industrial Revolution with and Amory Lovins, is published in thirteen
languages and has been read and referred to by several heads of state
including President Bill Clinton, who called it one of the five most important
books in the world today.
He is presently writing a book to be published in 2003 entitled Uprising,
The Forgotten, The Excluded and the Uninvited, about the growing worldwide
movement resisting corporatization of the commons.
He has founded or co-founded several companies including Groxis, Smith
& Hawken, and several of the first natural food companies in the U.S
that relied solely on sustainable agricultural methods.
