Wendy E. Brawer
Wendy E. Brawer is a New York-based eco-designer with an artist's background. She is creator of the Green Apple Map and the founding director of Green Map System, an award-winning local-global, collaborative, community media organization with 200 active projects in 37 countries. Wendy has taught, spoken and written on eco-design extensively. Additionally, her diverse consulting and production projects have promoted renewables (Liberty Science Center's SolSpherica, 2000), and highlighted waste reduction (Times Square's "self-emptying" recycling bins, 93). Wendy was Designer in Residence at Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum (97), and her eco-cultural work has been recognized by ID Magazine (Top 40 Socially Responsible Designers, 2001), Shift (Green Innovator, 2002) and Gaea Foundation (Sea Change, 2002). She is a member of SVN, the O2 Global Net, ADPSR and other green/peace organizations. |
