Invitation We invite you to join us as a participant in a consortium to accelerate the emergence of a global network of people and organizations who share ecological and social justice values. We believe that the best way to achieve this will be through the development and aggregation of new social network software tools. We are creating the consortium to to serve as a forum to help coordinate efforts among those interested in this objective. There are many independent development efforts already underway, both within the open source community, as well as in startups and well established companies, whose authors share our aspirations. We are establishing a framework to help all of these efforts partner with each other. Through common agreements these various independent initiatives can grow towards greater interoperability and thereby evolve toward functioning as components of the comprehensive tool set we will need. In addition, up to now there has been no customer for greater interoperability as an end in itself. Therefore, we are partnering with the Venture Collective to launch a fund to support the integration and development of the core social network software needed. While particpation in the Planetwork Consortium is free, we urge those who can to join the Venture Collective fund and to actively invite others we know to join us in this effort.
