Elections & Electronic Voting
Greetings Brother and Sister Progressives,
We would like to invite you to a press conference/rally outside Senator Barbara
Boxer's office at 1700 Montgomery Street in San Francisco this Monday January
3rd in solidarity to request that Senator Boxer officially challenge the November
2nd Presidential election. The event will begin at 12:00 noon.
Guest speakers include Dolores Huerta, the co-founder of United Farm Workers
Union, Walter Riley, a labor and civil rights attorney from East Bay Votes,
Max Anderson from the Berkeley City Council, Michael Eisenscher of US Labor
Against the War, Margot Smith of the Grey Panthers, and Don Goldmacher from
the Wellstone Voting Rights Task Force.
A delegation representing signatories and concerned voters will hand deliver
the thousands of petition signatures directly to Barbara Boxer's staff during
an arranged meeting, while participants outside listen to the widespread evidence
of vote irregularities and voter suppression that occurred on November 2, 2004.
Hawaii, Vermont and Oregon have taken statewide actions. Your presence sends
a valuable message to Senator Boxer. She is expecting a large crowd and we hope
to make a lasting impression, one that may result in her standing up on January
6th to contest this highly suspicious election. House Representatives have publicly
committed to contest. We need ONE Senator. Help us remind Senator Boxer who
she is working for. Every voice is a vote and we hope to see you there
Attached is a flyer with information about the event. This event is sponsored
by Wellstone Voting Rights (510) 527-1761
Dean Democratic Club - Silicon Valley, and United for Peace and Justice - Bay
Area. All labor is donated.
Please post it on your site. Free to distribute this information as you wish.
Any effort is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Erica Wilson-Rodriguez
