10 x 10 + 10

What is 10 x 10 + 10?

A hub for action items and education to restore habitat and preserve biodiversity.

Across the country, there are many grassroots projects that are transforming the landscape for pollinators.   Groups and individuals are well placed on the local level to identify what is needed and the best way concerned people in their communities can help.  10 x 10 + 10 is intended to help share their work, provide a common goal, and connect the dots between local activity and larger action projects.

In December 2016, beekeepers, researchers, pollinator organizations and concerned citizens from around the world met for a dialogue based conference “Audacious Visions for the Future of Bees and Beekeeping” (Bee Audacious, for short):  a collaborative working conference to envision bold evidence-based ideas through which honeybees, wild bees, beekeepers, and pollination managers can prosper.

With the ideas generated (check out the panel discussion video or final report), organizers were left asking the following questions:

How do we?

1: Connect concerned citizens with local projects (or help them develop projects)

2: Connect contributions to large scale habitat restoration projects developed by respected pollinator organizations

3. Connect people into a network where they can be alerted to pollinator issues that need a voice (a loud one) like the next Farm Bill?

We’re hoping 10 x 10 + 10 can be the tool that helps to accomplish these go
